On November 30, 2018, SeKON partnering with Fairfax Athletes Stand Together (FAST) and Paul VI Catholic High School in support of the Sharing Shoes non-profit launch event. Sharing Shoes was founded by Ty Wilson, the son of Angela Wilson and current student/athlete at Paul VI Catholic High School. Sharing Shoes mission is to collect new and gently worn basketball shoes for under-served athletes in the local community. Sharing Shoes is committed to providing every young athlete a chance to play basketball with good, reliable shoes using the donations collected.
We supported the AFAC’s Scouting for Food campaign this past Saturday. We helped receive, sort and package over 50,000 pounds of food. The food donations collected will help provide proper meals and nutrition to over 3,000 local families.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, Wreaths Across America’s mission to Remember, Honor and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 1,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
For the second year, SeKON partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (Habitat NOVA) and sponsored a “Build Day” on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
