Upgrading SAMHSA
This spring, the team worked on redesigning the SAMHSA mobile menu to create a more modern and user-friendly experience for mobile site visitors that still complied with USWDS guidelines and Section 508. Some of the changes we implemented include nesting Tier Two sections under one menu and highlighting the selected section so that the user knows which section in the menu they are on. We also utilized different colors (within the brand standards) and increased padding/spacing to allow for both breathability and beauty within the new mobile menu. These efforts decreased the time it would take for the user to get to a certain page and also assured that the user is now informed of the site map, tiered pages, and where they are within the site.
We presented to CORs last week, and they appreciated the improvements and officially approved the design. We are very excited for the menu to be released and to create a smoother user experience for mobile site visitors!
